Min says Russia to erase citizens’ data shared for digital permits

MOSCOW, May 26 (PRIME) -- Personal data of the Russians who entered them for digital permits to quit home during the lockdown will be deleted after the measure is abolished, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Tuesday at a briefing in the government.

“At the very beginning we announced that digital permits is a temporary measure valid during the quarantine period and isolation and after easing of corresponding steps all personal data will be deleted,” Shadayev said.

“The Moscow Region decided to cancel digital permits from May 23. And this week all personal data, excluding the accounts on the portal of state services made by those who had not had them and did it to receive a permit, all personal data related to movements, addresses, purposes of leaving home – everything will be deleted, erased, nothing of such information will be left in our state information systems,” the minister said.
